Our
principal objective at Moshoeshoe 1 International Airport
Rescue and Fire Fighting Services is to save lives in
the event of an aircraft accident or incident. This
objective assumes the possibility of, and need for,
extinguishing a fire that may occur immediately following an
aircraft accident or incident, or at any time during rescue
operations, including the suppression of cabin fires and
rescue of aircraft occupants.
We provide category 6 level of fire cover, and cover an area
of five (5) kilometers from the airport perimeter fence.
Equipment:
The service has the following appliances:
- 1 x Walter Foam Tender carrying 4 500 litres of water, 350
litres of foam and 225 kg DCP.
- 1 x Land Rover Defender serving as RIV
- 1 x Oshkosh T I – 3000 is the latest addition to the
fleet.
